So, as promised in Part 1, let’s look at a few sensible safeguards without resorting to an App.
Most people, equipped with the right information, are more than capable of making responsible decisions. However, there are those in our society who are particularly vulnerable like the elderly for example, who can become deliberate targets for dishonourable people. Whilst in the main, the elderly may not intend to renovate their properties any time soon, nevertheless they are often aware that a property needs upkeep to maintain its integrity.
As a quick recap…In Part 1 we were looking at the recently announced UK government backed App for allegedly dealing with Cowboy Builders called “Trusted Payments” and whether you do in actual fact need an additional 3rd party involved in your renovation.
At some point in their younger days our older generation, they would have shinned up a ladder to replace a roof tile, a job that becomes more problematic as the years advance and they become reliant on others to undertake work for them. An App isn’t much use to the elderly, many of whom struggle with online banking or digital apps anyway and yet, they are one sector of society that are amongst the most vulnerable.
